Oh hello, happy Friday! It’s my last day in the Outer Banks (feeling sad).
One of the best things about spending a week at the beach is cramming in tons of reading. I don’t typically
have make time for all the reading I wish I could do in my normal life. For me this means catching up on blogs, articles, audio books and novels. Since not much else is going on in my life this week, I figured I’d share my favorite reads from around the web througout this post.
If you can imagine, this week has been a little on the indulgent side…
My mind needed to do some nutrition reading to mentally balance things out…
- Do you eat before grocery shopping? I typically do, but now I’ll think twice about what I eat before shopping after reading this.

Lately, I’ve been trying to reminisce on what it’s like to be a student… seeing as I will be one again in a few short weeks (insert scared face). What I remember about my student days (besides the all the partying) are the long hours I spent studying and munching on snacks. So I’ve been trying to come up with some healthy snacks I can make to fuel my long papers and pre-exam nights. Like this easy cheesy kale chips, pear chips with cinnamon, or rosemary seasoned chickpeas!
I’m gearing up for a fall half marathon or two… except I have not made a plan, actually signed up for a race, or started running the amount I should be running. I’m going to kick my butt in gear when I get home from the beach, but I’ve been trying to get my thoughts on training together while I’m sitting in the sand. I found Jenny Hadfield’s training plans and Women’s Running- reasons to hire a running coach. I’ve been tossing around the idea of joining a running club or hiring coaches as a way to meet people in Richmond and up my running game…we’ll see.
